Some 1250 people attended the exhibitors’ evening of the 20th edition of the CFIA. The 2016 Innovation Trophies were thus awarded before a roomful of important professionals. In the “wrapping & packing” category, the three nominees were the Vertical Multi Wrapper (VMW) from Hastamat, the RMD Nano from PACKINOV and the PerfoamPack from Mondi Consumer Goods Packing.
Presented by Emballages Magazine to Jean-Philippe VARENNE, the chairman of the company based in Béligneux (Ain), the trophy went to the RMD Nano. Aimed at artisans and industrial operations in the food sector, but also for research and development (R&D) uses, this machine was designed to fill stackable preformed pots measuring 20 to 116 mm in diameter. Destacking, dosing, sealing, capping, inkjet marking, metal detection, dosing weighing and accumulation table: all these functions are built into this rotary plate machine with a 1m² footprint, driven entirely by servo-motors.
Working on the basis of vibrations which prevent waves of liquid from forming and growing, an “anti-overfill” function permits high speeds of 50 cycles per minute. The panel appreciated the versatility of this equipment.
